After lasts week lesson i felt much more equipped to choose some colours for my brand.

From the discussion around colour psychology, I was able to narrow my exploration down to four colours: orange, yellow, blue and green. These were suggested as more energetic and optimistic colours, particularly in contrast to colours like purple, which can feel overly formal/ institutional. Because my values are very human-centred, I wanted to focus on colours that feel inviting rather than authoritative. As a result I created a mind map exploring the connotations of these four colours, using both my lecture notes and other online resources.

Researching Brands with Similar Values - Case Studies

instead of just looking at colour associations i decided to look at a couple of brands that share similar values to mine. Since my main values are:

• Community
• Belonging
• non-commercial
• non-transactional
• huamn centric experience

I decided to look at some

• public service branding
• brands that are reliant on their consumers/community
• brands focusing on shared spaces
• non profits

Since these all share a few of my values.
