this weeks lecture was all about data and sashboards, and dofferent ways of presenting data. We looked at some interesting examples and how important it is to present data well.

dData is everywhere

we started by discussing how data constabtly surrounds us, and to keep it from becoming overwhelming, the way it is presented is highly important. Data tells a story, and it can be manipulated in different ways to highlight different points.

These are some of the examples we looked at in class. Bus timetables, weather reports and other things we interact with everyday.

There is many different ways to present data. The main ones are:

Diagrammatic

the most common ways are graphs and charts. They all have pros and cons, for example we discussed how Apple used a 3D pie chart to manipulate data and figures. This is why presentation is so important.

Visualisations

these are more illustrative, and are used for more abstract data visualisation.

These are a great way to make data easy to understabd, and draw out trends etc. If this data was presented with just figures, you would have to study it to understand wheras the visuals aid instant understanding./h1
